The Senior Season is here!
The season is here to celebrate YOU and all the hard work you have put in the past 4 years of high-school before you go off into the world. Whether that's off to college, trade school, or just to go out and explore to find your passions. Capturing a high school senior is an important job; documenting a time in their lives between adolescence and adulthood. Have you ever wondered why there is such and emphasis on getting those seniors portraits done? Or why people look into getting a professional photographer to take them?
As an under classman, my favorite part of the yearbook was always flipping through the seniors class portraits. I would admire the individuality of each person and looking at each seniors cute outfits. And I especially loved looking at all the different settings and poses in each picture. For me, i'd always imagine what my senior pictures would look and be like- what outfits i'd wear, how I would style my hair, and how I would pose. I didn't really give much thought on the importance of it other than just looking cool or cute. I just thought they were fun to look at. As I reflect back to my senior portraits, I am now much more aware that having a professional photographer take them is much more than the outfits, the hair, or the fun locations and poses. If your wondering the importance, here's why!
Having your senior portraits is a celebration of you, its a reward of who you became through the years of high school, its a way to capture you in this moment. As parents, its a reward for you too! you have played an instrumental role in your daughters or sons lives. From the car rides driving them to after school activities, helping with homework, and always providing that support to get them to where they are now! Senior portraits capture the role you played in your kids lives in a unique way. A beautiful photograph captures this time and reminds you to celebrate and be proud of yourself too! Its a great way to celebrate new chapters of life that are going to take them to places they have never been before. To quote Dr. Suess "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." So don't let this just become a memory in your head, let it become a keepsake that will last a lifetime.
Do you know a high school graduate who would love to highlight their big moment? I'd love to share what makes high school graduation sessions so special, and why its the perfect season to have portraits done!
